Some car insurance programs can track how you drive, from braking and mileage to other habits behind the wheel. The idea is simple: drive well, and you may pay less. But knowing every mistake is being measured can also make you wonder just how closely you're being watched.

Sometimes we can carry that same mindset into our relationship with God, imagining every failure added to some spiritual rate card. But the gospel tells a very different story. Jesus has already covered a cost we could never repay, which raises a freeing question: what changes when we stop living like acceptance depends on our performance?

Scripture (NIV): Colossians 1:20 – “and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
