Anchor Points | Ep. 146 | Why Running From Discomfort Is Killing Your Faith

What do you do when life gets uncomfortable? Run? Avoid it? Pretend it's not happening?

Most of us spend our lives dodging discomfort. We change seats. We ghost the hard conversation. We numb out with whatever's available.

But what if God is actually meeting you in that exact uncomfortable moment you're trying to escape?

On a recent flight, Devin sat next to a woman who was completely drunk. It was barely noon. Her first instinct? Get away. But God had other plans. That uncomfortable seat assignment turned into a God-orchestrated appointment with a woman on her way to rehab, terrified and surrendering her entire life.

Scripture (NIV): 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 – "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

TODAY'S FAITH EXERCISE: Identify one uncomfortable situation you've been avoiding. Instead of running, walk into it while holding the Lord's hand. Notice where God meets you there.
