Anchor Points: The Power of a Spiritual Lifeguard

Ever notice the lifeguard at the beach or pool? They’re not there to stop you from diving in—but they are watching closely, ready to help.

What if your faith had a lifeguard too?

When we were younger, whether as new parents or newlyweds—many of us leaned on friends going through the same things. But sometimes that’s like the blind leading the blind.

That’s why spiritual lifeguards matter.

In today’s episode, Devin Almonte reflects on the power of leaning on the wisdom of older, wiser believers. Those who have been there, done that, and can help guide us with grace and insight.

We'll explore:

• Why spiritual guidance from mature believers is essential

• How older mentors reflect the watchful presence of a lifeguard

Scripture Reflection:

Proverbs 1:5 – “Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.”

💬 Who’s your spiritual lifeguard?

Have you ever had a mentor or someone older in the faith help you through a season? What did they teach you—or protect you from?

About the Podcast

INSIGHT OUT
Clarity for the mind. Joy for the heart. Truth for the times. Christian news, devotionals & podcast conversations to help us flourish.
Think, see, and live differently. By uncovering God’s truth and removing the blinders that keep us from seeing clearly, we are called not only to reflect on these truths when we rise, when we lie down, and in all we do, but to live them out in every area of our lives.

As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 reminds us, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Faith is not meant to stay in our thoughts; it is meant to be lived out in action. What fills our minds and hearts shapes our lives, and what we truly believe must become evident in how we live. Together, we will learn what it means to live this out every day.

This is more than a podcast; it is a way of life, a call to see life InSight Out, to live as we were created to live, flourish as God intended, and build our lives on the rock-solid foundation of His Word. Why? Because how we live matters.
